October Update

October Update

30 October 2026

It’s been a busy 8 months here at The Berkshire Vet (as you can probably gather from the lack of updates on the ‘news’ part of our website!)

We have hosted two well attended client care evenings in this time. Vicky gave a talk on Itchy Cats and Dogs in April, just in time to give clients valuable information on what they can do to help their itchy pets especially over the summer months. Amy gave a talk in July about common illnesses in ageing cats, alongside tips for caring for them in their later years.

New Team Members

We have welcomed many new members to our team who are all settling in well and we know a lot of you will have met Jenny and May on our front of house team.

Amy, Louise and Kay who are experienced Registered Vet Nurses have also joined us in October this year.

Nurse Consultations

With the expansion of our team we are now able to offer consultations with our experienced team of Registered Veterinary Nurses. RVNs can help with a wide range of everyday healthcare needs, including nail clipping, anal gland expression, second vaccinations, and injections such as Librela and Solensia.

Nurse consultations are a fantastic way to receive expert care for your pet, often with greater appointment availability and shorter waiting times. They’re ideal for routine procedures and provide a calm, caring environment where our nurses can get to know both you and your pet.

Charity Dog Walk

We hosted our biannual charity dog walk in September, and raised over £300 for our nominated charity, The Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust who do fantastic work rehabilitating lots of local wildlife.

As we move towards the festive season (we have already started to see the first couple of mince pie ingestions in dogs!) we want to thank all our clients for your continuing support this year. We love that we are building a community and getting to know you and your pets so that we can serve you as best we can.

Best wishes,

The Berkshire Vet Team
